Obituary of Elizabeth (Betty) Ferratella

Elizabeth (Betty) Ferratella of Corning, NY passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the age of 84.

Betty was born April 2, 1937, the daughter of Joseph and Teresa (Carapella) Ferratella.

She graduated from St. Mary's School, Corning Free Academy, Erie Community College, and Elmira College with a degree in education.  Betty loved the 2nd grade children she taught for 47 years at All Saints Academy in Corning, NY.  She was a communicant of All Saints Parish and a member of the League of Sacred Heart.

Betty cherished her family, her faith and her friends.

Betty is survived by brothers, Rocco and Nicholas, Sr. (Carol) Ferratella; sister-in-law, Ann Ferratella; niece, Danielle (Tory) Kasemeyer; nephews: Joseph, Patrick, John, Paul (Laura), James, Nicholas, Jr. (Robin), and Christopher (Colleen) Ferratella; great nieces and nephews: Daniel & Joseph; Louie & Paulie; Evangeline & Nicholas III; Gabriel, Lucia, Andrew & Carina Ferratella, and Braeden & Alec Kasemeyer.

Betty was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Philip and Louis Ferratella; sister-in-law, Jean Ferratella; nephew, Daniel Ferratella; and great nephew, Charles Ferratella.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 19th from 1 until 4 p.m. at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 East First Street in Corning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 20th at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street in Corning.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Betty's honor can be made to All Saints Academy, 158 State St, Corning, NY 14830.

Betty's family entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
