Obituary of Betty M. Tyler

Betty M. Tyler, age 89, of Lindley passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 in the comfort of her home. Betty was born March 22, 1932 in Campbell, NY to Herbert and Beatrice (Merrill) Groves.  She married Waldo F. Tyler on December 24, 1949 in Campbell, NY. He predeceased her on May 07, 2010. 

 

Betty enjoyed camping and traveling with her family. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting, spending time with her children and grand-children. Betty leaves behind her faithful K9 companion, Tiny Ann, who rarely left her side.

 

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce (George) Schuler of Fredericksburg, VA and Shirley (Walter) Lechnowsky of Crossville, TN; five sons: Lewis (Linda) Tyler of Crossville, TN, Jim (Shirley) Tyler of Beaver Dams, NY, Gerald (Robin) Tyler of New Field, NY, Ken (Cindy) Tyler of Lindley and Gary Tyler of Rocky Point, NC; sisters, Gloria Moore of MI and Virginia Groves of Beaver Dams, NY; twenty-two grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 

Besides her parents and husband, Waldo, Betty was predeceased by her sisters: Claudia Groves, Hilda Groves, Maryann Angona, Ruth Vanderworker and Rosalie Aldridge; and her brothers: Herbert Groves, Frederick Groves and John Groves.

 

The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 8, at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street, Corning, NY with Rev. Dan Barner officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Knoll Cemetery, Coopers Plains.
