Obituary of Jolene Gay Benjamin

 

Jolene G. Benjamin, age 58, of Corning, NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021. 

 

Jolene was born on August 3, 1962 in Elmira, NY to Donald and Nancy (Alfred) Benjamin.  She was a graduate of Scottsdale High School in Arizona, Class of 1980.  After high school she attended an elite School for Executive Secretarial Studies in Phoenix, Arizona, where she graduated with honors.

 

After graduating, Jolene worked for the Social Security Administration Office, both in Scottsdale, AZ, and in Corning.

 

From a young age Jolene enjoyed drawing and will be remembered most for her hand drawn copies of Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang.  In more recent years Jolene enjoyed walking around Corning and talking with her friends.

 

She is survived by her parents, Donald Benjamin of Campbell, NY, and Nancy Benjamin of Corning, NY; her brother, Donald Benjamin, Jr also of Campbell; aunts, Jane (Dr. James) Weiss and Janet Ginnane; uncle, Raymond (Jackie) Benjamin; as well as several cousins.

 

Jolene was predeceased by both sets of grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousin.

 

Friends may call Monday, April 12th, 2021 from 4-6 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning. Funeral Services will be held at Haughey Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 13th at 10 AM. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Painted Post, NY immediately following the services. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Jolene.

 

Jolene’s care was entrusted to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
