Geraldine M. Schroeder

Geraldine (Gerri) Marjorie Schroeder, formerly of Boynton Beach, FL and Corning, NY, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at her home in San Antonio, TX. She was born in Woodhull, NY, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Colegrove) Wilcox. She married Raymond G. Schroeder at St. Mary's Church in Elmira, NY on November 16, 1957.

She was employed as a secretary at Corning Incorporated before moving to Louisville, KY, where she was employed in the Louisville Public School district and the Roman Catholic schools. After returning to Corning, she completed her employment as an Administrative Assistant at Ingersoll-Rand. During these years, she attended many seminars and was a member of the National Management Association.

Mrs. Schroeder was formerly active in the Girl Scouts and hospital Chapter in Corning and in the Cub Scouts and church-related activities in Louisville. Gerri had a passion for golf and played in Florida every chance she had with her many friends. She was a past member of Indian Hills, Corning Country Club, Mark Twain Gold and the Ladies league at Willow Creek.

Gerri was a devoted mother, loved by her 4 children and 8 grandchildren and will forever be missed by all.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Gerri was predeceased by her stepfather, Wallace Scranton, sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Michael Kapral, sister, Margaret Verkon, brother-in-law, Anthony Zine, brother-in-law, Anthony Tranelli, and brother-in-law Stanley Morse.

She is survived by two daughters: Kittie Calladonato of San Antonio, TX and Diane Young of San Antonio, TX; two sons: Frank (Carol) Schroeder of Round Rock, TX and Raymond (Amy) Schroeder, Jr. of Southlake, TX; three sisters: June Tranelli of Schenectady, NY, Martha Morse of Coopers Plains, NY, and Patricia Zine of Corning, NY; one brother, Charles (Joy) Wilcox of Johnson City, NY; brother-in-law, Ron Verkon of PA; grandchildren: Christopher, Aaron, Ryan, Nicholas, Annika, Alyssa, Brooklyn and Ashton, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday January 10th from 4 until 7 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street, in Corning. A family prayer service will be held there on Friday morning, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street in Corning at 9:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Saints Academy.

Gerri's family entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
