Vera Kasenchak, age 89, of Corning, NY passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at her home.
Vera was born April 5, 1932 in Wilkes Barre, PA. She was the daughter of Archpriest Peter and Anna (Zubal) Kasenchak. She was their only child.
A graduate of Corning Free Academy, Vera worked as an Account Clerk for Corning Incorporated from September 4, 1951 until her retirement on July 1,1995 after more than 43 years of employment.
Vera was a member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church in Corning, and she later attended St. Athanasios Orthodox Church in Elmira, NY.
She enjoyed gardening, flower gardening in particular, watching football (soccer) matches, volunteering at church fund raising activities and contributing monetarily to many charitable organizations around the country.
Vera is survived by one son, Dmitri Kimble of Corning NY, several cousins and God children, and many great friends.
She was predeceased by her parents and several cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 10 to 11 AM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM with Father Dan Mahler, Father Richard Scott and Deacon Sergei Kapral officiating. Burial will be in Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Trucksville, PA.
