Andrew R. Kacyon, Sr., age 77, of Painted Post, NY died on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY.
Andrew was born on October 3, 1943 in Berwick, PA to Andrew and Gertrude (Belles) Kacyon. He was a graduate of Berwick High School in Berwick, PA. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Bloomsburg University in Math and Science. He married Patricia Peck Simmons on February 18, 1989 in Painted Post.
Andy worked for Corning Incorporated as a Chemical Engineer from 1969-2001 and received his 50-year pin in 2019. Gardening was Andy’s favorite pastime, supplying family and neighbors with vegetables throughout the season. He coached Cinderella softball and also Little League baseball.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Christine (Leonard) Richiuso of Murphy, TX; sons, Andrew (Jennifer) Kacyon, Jr. of Oshkosh, WI and Chad (Pamela) Kacyon of Lafayette Hill, PA; step children, Wendy (James) Allard of Corning, NY, Carrie (Christopher) Alpha of Ithaca, NY, and Curt (Meghan) Simmons of Corning; grandchildren: Alain Sylvester, Sara Sylvester, Joseph Richiuso, Joshua Richiuso, Andrew (Lindsey) Kacyon, Brett Kacyon, Adam Kacyon, Kaleigh Kacyon, Nicholas Kacyon, Sydney Kacyon, Alyson Kacyon, Jacob (Katie) Allard, Madeline Allard, Abigail Allard, Mika Alpha, Zoe Ann Alpha, Malu Alpha, Veronica Tuazon, Elliott Tuazon and Ava Tuazon; great grandchildren: Grayson Kacyon, Mia Kacyon, Grayson Sylvester, Reign Sylvester, Nora Allard, and Cullen Allard; two brothers, Henderson Kacyon of Berwick, PA and Lawrence (Donna) Kacyon of Towanda, PA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Andrew was predeceased by his daughter, Michelle Kacyon, one brother; three sisters; and great grandson, Christopher Alpha.
A private celebration of life and remembrance will be held at the convenience of the family.
