Charles G. Beer III, age 66, of Caton, NY died on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA, after a four-week battle with COVID-19.
Chuck was born on October 1, 1954 in Corning, NY to Charles, Jr. and Joann (Kitchen) Beer. He married Deborah Deasey on August 14, 1976, in Falls Creek, PA.
Chuck was a long-time member of the East Lindley Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School teacher, deacon, and treasurer. He retired from Corning Incorporated in 2010, where he worked as a mason.
Chuck enjoyed his family, hunting, working at his saw mill, camping, and just being outdoors. An extremely generous and compassionate man, he was always helping wherever he saw the need. He was truly one of a kind, a legend, and a hero.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah; daughter, Tatiana (Travis) Henry of Corning; son, Mikel Beer of Savona, NY; sister, Debbie Jo (Roger) Hills of Lawrenceville, PA; brother, Don (Patricia) Beer of Wappingers Falls, NY; grandchildren: Levi, Calvin, Wade, Mikel Jr., Hunter, and Jaylin; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles, Jr. and Joann Beer.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family will have private services at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 East First Street in Corning followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery in Caton with Pastor Sheldon Roblyer officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to East Lindley Baptist Church, 10039 Tannery Creek Road, Corning, NY 14830 in Chuck’s name.
