Malcolm Foster, age 87, of Corning, NY passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Corning Hospital.
Malcolm "Mike" was born at home in Corning on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1932 to Herman and Hazel (Cortright) Foster.
He graduated from Northside High School in 1950, lettering in baseball, football, basketball and track. After attending Alfred University for two years, Mike then enlisted in the United States Air Force. While stationed in Korea he played on the All Airforce Baseball Team.
After his honorable discharge, Mike received a B.S. / B.A. from Bryant College. He worked for IBM and Kennedy Valve as a Systems Analyst, retiring from UNISYS Corporation as a Senior Account Representative.
Mike enjoyed the Finger Lakes, especially Keuka Lake. He was an avid and accomplished golfer with a 3 handicap.
He is survived by his sister, Joyce McKinney; favorite cousin, Velva (John) Vine; many nieces and nephews, including locally: Michael (Pat) Woodhouse, Thomas (Sue) Woodhouse, Jr., Joan (Jeff) Cline, Susan (Ron) Fowler, Paul (Tina) Woodhouse and Libby (Bob) Guild.
Malcolm was predeceased by his wife, Betty (Westfield) Foster; parents, and siblings: Laddie Foster, Geraldine Foster, and Rosie, James and Beverly Woodhouse.
Due to the current health crisis, services will be privately held. Burial will take place in Rural Home Cemetery in Big Flats, NY.
Malcolm’s family entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral home, Inc.
