Virginia B. Hallgren went home to be with her Savior on January 3, 2022 at the age of 78. \n\nVirginia was born on August 14, 1943, the youngest child of Orlie and Dorothy (Gower) Bryan of Williamsport, PA. \n\nThough small in stature, Virginia had a huge heart and loved her family dearly. She will always be remembered for her gentle ways. She always kept a cookie jar filled with her homemade cookies for her guests. Virginia found comfort watching the deer and birds browsing in her backyard. She was known for her strong faith and was a long-time member of the Painted Post United Methodist Church. \n\nVirginia is survived by her husband of 61 years, Guy Q. Hallgren, Sr. In addition, she is survived by four children, Guy (Tammy) Hallgren of Campbell, NY; Bryan (Teresa) Hallgren of Painted Post, NY; Cristine Hallgren-Updike (James Updike) of Gillett, PA; and Beth (David) Johnson of Warrenton, VA; six grandchildren: Brittany Sutryk, Nickolas Hallgren, Kristen Currie, Andria Hallgren, Mikaela Johnson and Gage Johnson; and six great-grandchildren: Tegan Smith, Kylin Sutryk, Nolan Sutryk, Garret Lanager, Coltan Hallgren and Isaac Currie. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Craig of Dillsburg, PA, sister-in-law, Terri Bryan of Muncy, PA, along with nieces, nephews, and extended family. \n\nIn addition to her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her brothers, Harry (Mae) Bryan and Edward Bryan. \n\nThe family will receive friends Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 3-5 pm at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First St. in Corning followed by a 5 pm service with Pastor Larry D. Johnson of the Millerton Wesleyan Church officiating. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Oil City, PA. \n\nVirginia's family entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
