Thomas F. Purcell, Jr., passed away suddenly on September 7, 2017, in Rochester, New York. \n\n\nHe graduated from Corning East High and St. John Fisher College. He held various positions within the banking industry in the Rochester area. \n\n\nTom was particularly grateful for the support and encouragement offered over the years by his Uncle Joseph Nares, who predeceased him and from his aunts, Mary (LA) Wilson and Ellen Carver and family friend, Susan Fermer. \n\n\nTom is predeceased by his mother, Eileen Purcell (Nares). He is survived by his father, Thomas F. Purcell, Sr., brother, Roger (Margaret) Purcell of Albany, NY, and several aunts and cousins as well as his long time friend, Ross Ellingwood. \n\n\nTom will be remembered for his warm smile and kind heart. He lived simply, and enjoyed reading and time spent with family and friends. \n\n\nThere will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of his family. Tom will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery.\n\n\nTom's family has entrusted his care to the Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
