Theodore Daniel Scouten, age 92, of Main Street in Corning, NY went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 4, 2014 at home. \n\n\nTed was born on August 30, 1921 in Corning to Watson and Grace (Kimber) Scouten. He worked for Corning Glass Works for more than forty years. He married Evelyn Campbell on September 25, 1949 in Lockwood, NY. He was preceded in death by her in 2011. He attended Caton Baptist, Calvary Baptist, and was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Wellsburg for the past 15 years.\n\n\nHe is survived by two daughters, Darlene Scouten of Corning and Maretta Scouten of Pulteney, NY; son, Rev. Larry (Kathy) Scouten of Wellsburg, NY; four sisters, Naomi (Walter) Lawrence of Corning, Theola Shukwit of Corning, Joy (Les) Phenes of Somerset, KY, Flossie Demerest of Hammondsport, brother, Robert (Marie) Scouten of Horseheads, NY; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Anna Scouten of Bath, NY; brother-in-law, Alvin Reese of Tamaqua, PA; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ted was predeceased by his siblings, Bertha Anglehart, Frank Scouten, Henry Scouten, Cleora Reese, and Julia LeBaron.\n\n\nCalling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 8th from 2 until 4 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning where services will follow calling hours at 4:00 PM with his son Reverend Larry Scouten officiating. Burial will be in Coopers Plains Cemetery.\n\n\nMemorial donations may be made in his name to First Baptist Church, PO Box 120, Wellsburg, NY 14894.\n\n\nTed's family entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
