Thelma D. Olson, age 98, of Corning, NY died Thursday, December 1, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. Thelma was born on February 13, 1918 in Corning to Carl and Selma (Carlson) Allison. She married Victor Olson in 1938 and was preceded in death by him in 2005 She was employed by Rockwell's Dept. Store in Corning as the manager of the jewelry department for many years. She also loved the time she spent at the cottage on Keuka Lake. Her hobbies included: sewing, cooking, baking, bowling and playing games with great-grandchildren and grandchildren. She was a devoted member of Emanuel Lutheran Church. She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Wayne) Smith of Ft. Myers, FL; son, John (Paula) Olson of Corning; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Thelma was predeceased by her grandchildren Daniel and Sherry; two sisters and three brothers. A memorial service will be held December 16th at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 149 W. William Street, Corning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jennifer Long officiating. Burial will be in Coopers Plains Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 149 W.
