Sharon G. Tostanoski, age 75, of Corning, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at home surrounded by her family and friends.\n\n\nSharon was born on May 25, 1943 in Corning to Leland and Dorothy (Heck) Gamble of Painted Post. She graduated from Painted Post High School in 1961 and married Joseph Tostanoski on July 28, 1962 in St. Patrick's Church. She retired from Corning Incorporated in July of 1999.\n\n\nSharon always made her home a happy one for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends and loved get-togethers. In addition, she loved to knit, crochet, work in her garden, and care for her family and loved ones.\n\n\nHer survivors include her husband Joseph; daughter, Tina (Loran) Hively of Tuscarora; sons, Joseph Tostanoski, III and Steven Tostanoski both of Corning; sister, Kathy Romanick of Elmira; brother, Gary Gamble of Wellsboro; grandchildren, Loran Hively, Brandon Hively, Brittany (Jeff) Carlson, Ashley Tostanoski, Steven Tostanoski, Jr., and Elizabeth Tostanoski; sister-in-law, Antoinette (David) Brush of West Elmira, several nieces and nephews.\n\n\nCalling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 26th from 5 - 7 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 27th at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street in Corning with Father Lew Brown officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.\n\n\nThe family will provide flowers and ask that donations be made in Sharon's name to Paradise Garden Animal Haven, 598 Kent Hill Road, Woodhull, NY 14898 or a charity of your choice.\n\n\nSharon's family entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
