Rose Ellen Weisel Hetzel Reas, age 86, of Big Flats, NY, died Monday, October 13, 2014 at Bethany Manor in Horseheads, NY.\n\n\nRose was born on July 3, 1928 in Williamsport, PA, to Harry and Florence (Pfirman) Weisel, Sr. Rose graduated from South Williamsport High School. She received her Registered Nursing degree from Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing. On November 24,1949 she married Daniel A. Hetzel, the love of her life, and was happily married until his untimely death on June 10, 1976. On April 1, 1978 she was married to Lewis F. Reas and was married until his passing on May 5, 2009. Rose loved crafting and traveling. She was a member of the Hillview Methodist Church as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she met and shared time with numerous friends. \n\n\nShe is survived by two sons, Gary (Grace Williams) Hetzel of Corning and D. Edward (Stacey) Hetzel of Montour Falls, NY; daughter, Debra Kreidler of Newfield, NY; brother, Harry (Jane) Weisel of Williamsport, PA; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Hawk and Florence Derrick; nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her sister, Donna Carroll.\n\n\nCalling hours will be held on October 17, 2014 at Friedens Lutheran Church on Brick Church Road in Liberty, PA, from 10 until 11 AM where funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Friedens Lutheran Church Cemetery in Liberty.\n\n\nMemorial donations may be made in her name to Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620 or to CareFirst, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830.\n\n\nRose's family entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc. in Corning.
