Rodney I. Frost, age 88, of Corning, passed away at home on January 9,2018. \n\n\nRod was born September 2, 1929 in Far Hills, NJ, the son of the late William I. and Emily E. (Conklin) Frost. Rod graduated from Bernardsville High School and attended Hibbing Junior College, then transferred to MIT, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduating, Rod started working for Corning Glass Works, Corning, NY in 1952 and married Beverly J. Randall on August 15th, 1953 in Addison, NY. He served in the Army. He retired in 1987 from Corning after 35 years as a Mechanical Engineer and Director of Ceramic Research and Development, in which he received many awards and over 20 patents. \n\n\nRod was a manager in the Babe Ruth League, member of the Junior and Corning Chamber of Commerce. He was also one of the founding members and past president of the current YMCA. He enjoyed fishing, skiing, swimming, taking care of his property, wood working, bird watching, traveling and spending time with his family teaching them how to play pool and ping pong. \n\n\nRod is survived by his wife Beverly (Randall) Frost; daughters: Barbara McVeigh of Jonesborough, TN, Cynthia Frost of Corning, and sons: Michael (Sally) Frost of Altay, Brian Frost of Corning; grandchildren: David Newell Jr., Brian Newell, Dakota Frost, Joshua (Corinne) McVeigh, Cori (Johnny) Tucker, Rosie McVeigh, Brennan Frost, Emma Frost and great grandchildren: Lilian Newell, Braden Newell, Javaar Tucker.\n\n\nRod was predeceased by his sister Martha Regan and brothers, Jack and Carlton Frost.\n\n\nThe Frost family will have visitation hours on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 3-5 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E.
