Peter R. Celelli, age 90, of Painted Post, formerly of Corning, died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Absolut Care at Three Rivers in Painted Post.\n\n \n\nPeter was born on June 28, 1922 in Hudson, NY to Dominic and Rose Celello. He married Catherine Gramoglia on April 22, 1944 in St. Vincent de Paul Church. He served his country in the US Coast Guard aboard the USS Bayone during World War II. He retired from Corning Glass Works in 1986 with 40 years of active service. \n\n \n\nHe is survived by his wife Catherine; children: Peter (Sandi) Celelli of Corning, Daniel (Sandie) Celelli of Corning, Tina (Brian) Digiacomo of Arnold, MD, Joseph Celelli of Painted Post; a daughter-in-law, Judy Caldwell Celelli of Painted Post; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 3 nieces. Peter was preceded in death by his sister Annie Gorsline and a brother Eugene "Geno" Celelli.\n\n \n\nThe funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 13 at St. Vincent de Paul, 222 Dodge Avenue, Corning. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Corning. \n\n \n\nMemorial donations in Peter's name can be sent to St. Vincent de Paul Church, 222 Dodge Avenue, Corning, NY 14830.\n\n\nHaughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 East First Street in Corning has been entrusted with Peter's arrangements.
