Patrick Cosgrove, age 95, of Corning, NY died Friday, January 25, 2019, surrounded by his family at home. \n\n\nPatrick was born August 12, 1923 in Corning. He is the son of Thomas and Anna (Gibbons) Cosgrove. \n\n\nPatrick served in the Army during World War II from 1943 - 1945 and was involved in the following campaigns: Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland. Patrick received decorations and citations for the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and The World War ll Victory Medal. He was employed by Corning Incorporated and retired as a lathe operator. He enjoyed time with family at Keuka Lake, solving jumbo puzzles, was an avid reader, and loved listening to music.\n\n\nHe is survived by a son, James (Pamela) Cosgrove of Corning; grandchildren, Shawn (Brittany) Cosgrove of Campbell, NY and Ryan Cosgrove of Corning; several nieces and nephews.\n\n\nPatrick was predeceased by his two infant sons, Patrick and Shawn; wife, Mary (DiMaggio) Cosgrove; his loving companion of many years, Helen Walk; siblings: Tom, Adam, Veronica, Gertrude, Agatha, Clara, and Anna.\n\n\nA graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 9th, 11AM at St. Mary's Cemetery, 375 Park Avenue in Corning with Deacon Jim Hankey officiating.\n\n\nIn lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorial donations be made to Care First, 3805 Meads Creek Rd., Painted Post, NY 14870.\n\n\nPatrick's family entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
