Patricia Trapani

Patricia A. Trapani, 87, of Corning, NY, passed away on May 6, 2022 at Guthrie Corning Hospital.

She was born in Elmira, NY on April 23, 1935. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Salvator Trapani; her parents, Thomas and Mary (McCullough) O'Brien; and her brother, Thomas H. O'Brien.

She was a graduate of Southside High School and St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Elmira. She also attended Seton Hall. Pat spent her career as a licensed registered nurse at the Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital in East Orange, NJ. After 34 years of dedicated service, she retired in 1990. She and her husband moved from Rockaway, NJ to Heritage Point in Barnegat, NJ. In recent years she moved back to the Corning area to be with family and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Martuscello of Corning; nieces and nephews: Carol (Clive) Howard, Theresa (Bruce) Pearson, John (Autumn) Martuscello, Maureen Carreau, Ann (Tom) Stummer, Marie (Ernie) Spaulding, Paul (Lela) Martuscello, Thomas (Maggie) O'Brien; and several great nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 11th, from 3 until 5 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First Street in Corning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 12th at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street in Corning with Father Matthew Jones officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery in Elmira, NY.
