Patricia Ann Hyland, age 82, of Brown Hollow Road in Corning, NY died Friday, April 27, 2012 under Hospice care at Corning Hospital.\n\n\n\n\nPatricia was born May 30, 1929 in Corning to Edward and Gertrude (Guest) Hyland. She was a graduate of Corning Free Academy. She worked for many years at Corning Glass Works and retired as an executive secretary. As an active communicant of All Saints Parish, Pat served as a visiting communion minister. She spent her post retirement years volunteering for many organizations in the area and was available to anyone who needed a ride. She translated her love of animals by working with cats and dogs at All Critters Pet Service. Pat also worked at Haughey Funeral Home as a greeter for several years. She loved travelling, reading, socializing with friends, and visiting relatives.\n\n\n\n\nShe is survived her nephew and nieces, Patrick Dailey of Buffalo and Dr. Sharon Dailey and Pat Dengler of Ship Bottom, NJ; and several cousins. Patricia was predeceased by her sister Gertrude Dailey in 1957.\n\n\n\n\nCalling hours will be held today, Sunday, April 29 from 4 until 6 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First Street in Corning. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 30 at St. Mary's Church and burial will be in Coopers Plains Cemetery.\n\n\n\n\nMemorial donations may be made to All Saints Parish, 222 Dodge Avenue, Corning, NY 14830.\n\n\nWe would like to thank the staff of Founders Pavilion for their care and encouragement during her recent illness.
