Mida Pearl Stephens Obituary (1943 - 2014)

Mida Pearl Stephens, age 71, of Painted Post, died Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Mida was born on July 17, 1943 in Bath, NY. She married Forrest Stephens in 1961 in Painted Post, NY. Mida owned and operated Mida's Dog Grooming in Painted Post for over 20 years. She enjoyed gardening and animals of all kinds, her beloved dog "Chip", painting pictures and making ceramics. She is survived by her husband, Forrest; daughter, Carey May Stephens of Campbell; two sons, Forrest (Lisa) Stephens of Corning and Daniel Stephens of Painted Post; two sisters, Barbara Ann Cook of Rochester and Crystal Bowman of Horseheads; grandchildren: Thomas Woodcock, Ashley May Woodcock, Tyler Woodcock, Miaja Skye Stephens, and Savanah Stephens; one great-grandchild, Talon Michael Young; several nieces and nephews. Mida was predeceased by her sisters, Kathryn Henshaw and Shirley Taft; and by her brother, Henry Taft. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 17th at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning with Pastor Gary DeHaas officiating. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 1316 College Avenue, Elmira, NY 14901. Mida's family entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
