Maureen McCarthy Obituary (1937 - 2022)

Maureen Ann McCarthy, age 85, of Corning, NY, died on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Steuben Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Bath, NY. Maureen was born on January 8, 1937 in Corning to Jeremiah and Mary (Kelly) McCarthy. She was a graduate of St. Vincent de Paul School and Northside High School (1954). She was active with her alumni association for Northside High School and worked for the school board and general elections for many years. She enjoyed bowling and golf. She had worked for JC Penney's, Ingersoll Rand and Corning Glass Works. She received several quality recognitions at CGW in the transportation department. As a communicant of All Saints Parish, she volunteered in the office for many years. Her survivors include many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary Margaret and Jeremiah McCarthy; siblings: Jeremiah (Joanne) McCarthy, Paul (Mary) McCarthy, Grace (Frank) Wilson, Margaret Alice (Bob) Landis, and Rita (Roderick) McCaffery. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 23rd at 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street in Corning. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Corning. Maureen's care was entrusted to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
