Mary Winoma Overstreet

Winoma (Alderman) Overstreet, age 87, formerly of Manchester, GA went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Steuben Centers in Bath, NY.

Winoma was born June 15, 1929 in Alexandria City, Alabama to Brooks and Velma (Bentley) Williams. She graduated from Manchester High School and Georgia Southwestern College. She worked for the Bank of Manchester, Manchester City Hall, Goody Hair Products, and Upton's in Atlanta.

She was a very loving and caring person, and spent her life trying to serve the Lord in everything she did. She loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was loved by many co-workers and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Norma (Rev. Ron) Head of Lindley, NY; son, Billy (Cordelia) Alderman of Manchester, GA; sister, Ann Williams of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Pete, Jennifer, Bill, JD, and James; seven great-grandchildren, Alec, Jake, Kaylie, Kourtney, Patton, Kimball, and Crosby. She was preceded in death by her infant son Dale and her grandson Jason Head.

Calling hours will be Saturday, December 3rd from 10 - 11 AM at Cox Funeral Home in Manchester, Georgia where funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jimmy Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Manchester City Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Lindley Community Church or Trinity Baptist Church.

Winoma's family entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc. and to Cox Funeral Home.
