Marion L. "Jane" Kniffin, age 86, of Corning, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at her daughters home in Corning.\n\n\nJane was born on November 10, 1931 in Petula, PA to Frank and Viva (Stiles) Ruter. She married Douglas Kniffin on September 1, 1951 in Coudersport, PA and was predeceased by him on July 12, 1979. \n\n\nJane worked for Corning Chiropractic Associates and McDonald's in Painted Post. She enjoyed listening to the Bible on CD's every day and listening to Polka music. She was a mom to everyone, was well loved and will be sorely missed. She was a member of the Hornby Congregational Church, lifetime member of the Hornby Fire Department, and president of Central Valley Cemetery. \n\n\nJane is survived by her daughter Pam (Charlie Stoddard) Kniffin of Corning; daughter by heart, Ruthie (Jack) Waters of Painted Post; sister, Betty Spong of Coudersport, PA; sisters-in-law: Madeline Ruter of Painted Post, Dee Ruter of Coudersport, PA, and Carol Kniffin of Penn Yan; many special nieces and nephews. \n\n\nJane was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Delia Kniffin; brothers: Frank, Ed, and Chet Ruter; her sister, Eva Robinson; brothers-in-law, Stanley Kniffin, Raymond Spong, and Earlist Robinson.; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Quattrini and Leona Ruter.\n\n\nCalling hours will be held on Saturday, November 18th from 10 until 12 noon at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning where funeral services will follow at Noon. Burial will be in Central Valley Cemetery in Hornby.\n\n\nThe family will provide flowers and ask that memorial donations be made to the Hornby Fire Department, Hornby Congregational Church, or to Corning Meals-On-Wheels.\n\n\nJane's family entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
