Marie Madigan, age 90, of Route 125 in Campbell, NY died Thursday, October 24, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.\n\n\nMarie was born on August 18, 1923 in Sayre, PA to Henry and Catherine (Walsh) McNamara. She married Alfred Madigan on February 8, 1947 in Waverly, NY and was preceded in death by him on April 11, 2011. She worked for Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre for 16 years as an emergency room clerk. She enjoyed reading books, baking, canning, making apple pies, and crocheting. \n\n\nShe is survived by four daughters, Ann Gwinn of Campbell, Jean (Richard) Robertson of Johnson City, Kathleen (Richard) Welch of Canandaigua, and Carol Parker of Campbell; one son, Edward (Rita) Madigan of Athens, PA; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her Brothers, John, Donald, and Robert McNamara; sister, Doris McLaughlin; son-in-law, James Gwinn; and grandchildren, Lisa and Kevin Welch.\n\n\nA calling hour will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Campbell on Monday, October 28th from 10-11 AM where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Father Patrick Connor officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Waverly.\n\n\nMemorial donations may be made in Marie's name to CareFirst (formerly Hospice), 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830 or to the Fingerlakes SPCA, 7315 State Route 54, Bath, NY 14810.\n\n\nMarie's family has entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
