Corning, New York
Lorena May Dixon, age 60, of Corning, NY, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024. She was born in Seattle, WA on June 6, 1964, the daughter of Stanley and Marlene Liller.
In the words of her daughter, Karen, Lorena was a loving all-around great person, mother, and grandmother to 3 grandchildren whom she loved dearly with her heart and soul. She became a teen mom at the tender age of sixteen. She would give the shirt off her back to a stranger if she had it to give. She was a very down-to-earth spirit and loved everyone she encountered, and everyone that encountered her loved her as well. She had a magnetic personality and had many friends over her lifetime that she lost touch with over the years, but nonetheless, she never stopped loving them. Lorena also lived life for Jesus. She had a great sense of humor about her as well and could make others laugh easily with her quirky sense of humor and her goofy little dances in front of her grandkids and friends. She always went out of her way to make sure others were happy and okay and she was a giver.
Lorena loved music, such as Janis Joplin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, and even attended a Black Sabbath concert once in her younger years. She loved all genres of music too. She would sit on her phone and loved watching live performances of her favorite bands and documentaries on YouTube, scrolling social media and watching videos.
She will be deeply missed by her entire family and all of her friends. It's not goodbye, but see ya later. Until the next season. We love you.
Lorena is survived by her daughter, Karen Harvey (Lon Reed); brother, Gerald Liller (Albert &The Can); brother, Scott Austin; sister, Laurie Ann Liller (Pod); 3 wonderful grandchildren: Devon Reed, Reagan Reed (Sis), and Jacob Reed (Grasshopper); Aunt Gloria (Skip); Uncle Bill (Sherry); sister-in-law, Elizabeth Liller, and many nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, extended family, and many friends.
