Newark - Lois Frances Follette, 94 entered the open arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. Family will greet friends (NOTE DATE) Friday August 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Woodlane Community Church, 5694 Woodlane, Newark. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, August 27 at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in E. Newark Cemetery. In memory of Mrs. Follette, in lieu of flowers, please consider donations to DeMay Living Center Therapeutic Recreation, 100 Sunset Dr. Newark, NY 14513. Mrs. Follette was born the daughter of the late Louis and Irma (DeLizery) Schweitzer on Thursday, January 5, 1922 in Newark, NY. She graduated from Newark High School class of 1939 and then attended RBI where she earned a secretarial degree. Upon graduation she worked in the medical records department of the Newark Hospital. Later, she worked part-time at the Singer Sewing Center in Newark. Mrs. Follette was a life member of Woodlane Community Church and served for many years with her husband as custodians. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, singing in the choir and reading. Mrs. Follette volunteered at Newark Hospital in the gift shop for several years. Mrs. Follette will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Gail (Stephen) Walker of Newark; sons Timothy (Janet) of Williamson and Richard (Sandra) Follette of Painted Post; grandchildren Michelle (Manuel) Marques of Webster, Lisa (Daniel) Brooks of Williamson, Daniel (Deanna) Follette of Indiana, and Jennifer (Allan) Kintz of Montour Falls, and seven great grandchildren Mrs. Follette was predeceased by her husband Harold Follette on Oct. 10, 2010 & sister Althea Bigham in 2012.
