Linda Darline Watson

–

Corning, NY

With a profound sense of sorrow, yet with gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Linda Darline Watson, affectionately known as Sissy, on January 10, 2024. Born in Corning, NY on August 6, 1945, Linda was a beacon of loving kindness, loyalty, and magnanimous spirit that touched every life she came in contact with. A woman of deep Christian faith, Linda embodied the essence of Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Her unwavering belief in these words guided her throughout her life and was evident in her compassionate actions and generous spirit. Linda and Thomas Watson were married on September 15, 1967.

Linda was an active member of Victory Highway Wesleyan Church in Painted Post, NY, where she found joy in teaching Sunday School, greeting people, and working in the kitchen. Her devotion to Christ, family, and friends shaped her life, and she used her time and talents in service to others through her work as a medical office assistant in health care, as a Webolos Den Mother, and as a volunteer at The Potter's Hands Foundation. Her hobbies included gardening, shopping, and reading, but her favorite pastime was undoubtedly spending quality time with her loved ones. Linda's love for children was so profound that every friend of the family's child was treated as her own grandchild.

Linda is survived by her sons, Michael (Diane) Watson and Thomas (Janeen) Watson Jr.; her brother-in-law, David (Rosario) Watson; sister-in-law, Lu Anne (Guy) Holland-Albrecht; and her nieces and nephews: Lori Watson, Wendy LoDuca, Ben Mori, Dan Mori, and Stacy Kling. Her spirit is now reunited with her beloved husband, Thomas Watson, who preceded her in death.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Linda's life will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Victory Highway Wesleyan Church, located at 150 Victory Highway, Painted Post, NY 14870. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Victory Highway Wesleyan Church, https://victoryhighway.com/give/

We invite family and friends to join us in remembering Linda, a woman whose heart was as beautiful as the life she lived.

In remembrance of Linda, we encourage all who knew her to share their memories and upload photos of her to her memorial page. It is through these shared memories and pictures that we can keep the spirit of Linda alive in our hearts, and celebrate the touching legacy she leaves behind.
