Lillian Taylor, age 94, of Harrisonburg, Virginia went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community in Harrisonburg. Lillian was born on April 1, 1921 in Alfred Station, NY to Edson and Lelia May (Saunders) Pierce. She married Reverend Charles Taylor on July 22, 1939 in Hornell and was predeceased by him in 1989. She and her husband were in full time mission work first in church planting. She was a long time member of North Baptist Church, Corning, NY. While there, she was active as a youth group leader. This was followed by full time mission work at the Source of Light Mission in Madison, Georgia. Following the death of Charles she worked in innumerable capacities. She was a light wherever she was physically present. She is survived by four daughters, Sharol (William) White, Elmira, NY, Beverly (Ronald) Schubert, Harrisonburg, VA, Darlene (Thomas) Switzer, Lynnwood, WA, Sandra (David) Mogren, Corning, NY; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Lillian was predeceased by her brothers Eldon, Kenneth, Lyle, and Cecil Pierce; sisters, Florence Beeton, Mary Tucker, and Ethelyn Eason; and her son, Russell Taylor. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 23rd from 6-8 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Reverend Earl Whittaker officiating. Burial will be in Rural Home Cemetery in Big Flats, NY.
