Kathryn M. Pease, age 95, of Painted Post, NY formerly of Cayuta Street in Corning died Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living, Inc. in Painted Post. Kathryn was born on December 16, 1922 in Schenectady, NY to Alfred and Carmella (Ranze) DiCerbo. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1940 and married Robert Pease on September 26, 1943 in Schenectady and was predeceased by him in 2010. Kathryn was past president of Catholic Action Society and volunteer for the food bank and Red Cross. She worked out for many years at the Corning YMCA. She was known for her kindness and compassion and helped many people in need. She inspired her family with her resilience and will to live. She had courage in the face of adversity, and put a priority on faith, family, and friends. She had a feisty spirit and was known by many names including Grambo, Lady of the Rake, and Home Run King Kay. She was a great cook who was also well ahead of the curve on healthy eating. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen (Wayne) Pooler of Amsterdam and Paula (Jerome) Wozniak of Corning; sons, Thomas (Carol) Pease of Corning and Gary (Patricia) Pease of Corning; brother, Michael (Patricia) DiCerbo of Schenectady; grandchildren, Leigh Ann (David) Gilson, Brian Lavoy, Kelly (Brian) Green, Carly Pease, Kerry (Michael) Paladini, Brandon (Vasiliki) Pease, Jessica Pease, Katie (Amaury) Gollier, Annie Wozniak, Maddy Wozniak; great grandchildren, Jacob and Ethan Gilson, Sydney and Owen Green, Alexandra and Carolina Pease; several nieces and nephews; many friends and the staff at Brookdale. Kathryn was predeceased by her sister Rose Chiusano. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 6th from 11 AM until 1 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 3:00 PM on Monday, August 6th at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street in Corning with Father Lewis Brown officiating. Kathryn has donated her body to medical science at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery in Corning. The Pease family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Brookdale Assisted Living in Painted Post for their compassion and great care of our mother. The family will provide flowers and ask that memorial donations be made to Catholic Charities and Food Bank of the Southern TIer. Kathryn's family entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
