Joyce A. Schreppel, age 82, of South Corning, NY went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Ira Davenport Hospital in Bath, NY. \n\n\nJoyce was born on August 21, 1935 in Elmira to Frank and Florence (Palmer) Buchanan. She married Robert Schreppel on November 20, 1954 in Caton and was predeceased by him on March 7, 2010. A graduate of Northside High School, Joyce worked for Corning Glass Works as a secretary. In 1966 she and her husband opened South Corning Plumbing and Heating. Joyce also worked as a Court Clerk for the Town of Corning for over 20 years.\n\n \n\nJoyce volunteered for Corning Hospital in the Gift Shop and RSVP. She was a member of the Town of Corning Senior Citizens and Christian Life Baptist Church. Joyce taught piano lessons for many years and played the piano and organ at church. She and Bob enjoyed the retreats at Odosagih Bible Conference Center and their cabin in the woods. \n\n\nShe is survived by two daughters: Sherry (Lynn) Tucker of Corning and Debbie (Ken) Thomas of Hornby; son, Bob (Kim) Schreppel of Hornby; brother-in-law, Dan Ginnan of Houston, TX; nine grandchildren: Jenn (Kevin) VanCise, Jill (CJ) Lloyd, Bekah Schreppel, Matt (Georgia) Tucker, Josh Tucker, Nate (Heather) Tucker, Jeff Thomas, Jake (Rochelle) Schreppel, and Jed (Elyssa) Schreppel; 19 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Ginnan.\n\n\nCalling hours will be held on Friday, March 30th from 1-3 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor John Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Caton.\n\n \n\nMemorial donations may be made in her name to Christian Life Baptist Church, 2523 Brown Hollow Rd, Corning, NY 14830 or to a charity of your choice.\n\n\nJoyce's family entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
