Joseph M. Kapral, age 85, of Cutler Avenue in Corning, NY, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Corning Hospital.\n\n\nJoe was born May 24, 1927, in Corning to Lewis and Anna Kapral. He was predeceased by his first wife, Betty J. Plumley; second wife, Betty Frawley; daughter, Charlotte; sisters, Mary Tuma and Anna Melnyk; brother, John; and brother-in-law, Reginald Morse. Joe married Lois Johnson Solsky in 1997.\n\n\nJoe worked for Corning Glass Works, Jones Pontiac, and Kapral Tire. In 1978 he started his own business, "Joe Kapral Auto Service" in Riverside. His genuine care for his customers made him successful in that business for 16 years. After retirement Joe's 50-plus years of taking care of his customers continued at Riverside Builders. He was a member of the Corning Lions Club. He loved bowling and helped organize the tournaments. Joe was actively involved as a member of Victory Highway Wesleyan Church. He also loved being outdoors working in his garden and taking care of his flowers. Joe enjoyed traveling, spending winters in their Florida home, and being with his family and friends. His family was his life and he was always ready and happy to help us. He will be greatly missed and always remembered for all the wonderful times we had together. \n\n\nHe is survived by his wife Lois; three daughters: Debbie (Steven) Hall, Karen (Doug) Rynders, Linda (Dave) Spirawk, all of Corning; three sons: Larry (Mary Lou) Kapral of Horseheads, Terry Kapral of Corning, and Doug (Kathy) Kapral of Painted Post; two sisters: Helen Coons of Corning and Marge Morse of Campbell; two brothers: George Kapral of Corning and Michael (Mary Ann) Kapral of The Villages, FL; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Jenny Kapral of Campbell; stepsons: Dr. Joseph (Sharon) Solsky of Omaha, NE, Dr. Robert (Betsy) Solsky of Grandville Summit, PA, Stan (Marjorie) Solsky of Painted Post, and Russell (Karen) Solsky of Vail, AZ; and very special neighbors: Carl, Alberta, Gary, and Sue.\n\n\nCalling hours will be held on Thursday, April 18th from 4 until 7 PM at Victory Highway Wesleyan Church, 150 Victory Highway, Painted Post, NY, where Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 19th at 10:00 AM with Pastor Paul Piraino officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Corning. \n\n\nThe family will provide flowers and asks that memorial donations be made in Joe's name to the Lions Club or to Victory Highway Wesleyan Church.\n\n\nJoe's family has entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E.
