Joseph John Clayberger, age 77, of Corning, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Corning Hospital. \n\nHe was born November 18, 1938 in Allentown, PA. He was the son of the late Anthony and Dorothea (Kirchner) Clayberger. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1958 to 1962. He was employed by Corning Incorporated, Corning, NY as a machinist until he retired in 1997. \n\nJoe is survived by his wife, Kathleen Clayberger; son, Mark (Anna) Clayberger; daughter, Kimberly Young (Charles Munroe); brother, Anthony A. (Delores) Clayberger II; sister, Dorothea "Dottie" (Nick) Williams; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. \n\nThe family would like to offer special thanks to longtime friend and companion, Nane Sweeney, and the many friends he made over the years. In honoring Joe's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Burial with full military honors accorded will be in Bath National Cemetery on Thursday, June 2nd at 10AM. A celebration of Joe's life for friends and family will be held at the Montour Falls Moose Lodge, 2096 Route 14, Montour Falls, NY on Thursday, June 2nd from 4-7PM.\n\nJoe's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Corning Hospital for the care Joe has received.
