Jon T. Vine Obituary (1946 - 2025) - Painted Post, New York

Jon T. Vine, age 78, of Painted Post, NY, passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2025, with "his girls" by his side. He worked for 35 years at Ingersoll Rand, then Dresser Rand as an engineer in Government Control, traveling extensively, installing and repairing controls in U.S. Navy ships. He was proud to have earned a U.S. patent for one of his designs. In retirement, he worked part-time for NAPA delivering parts, and he made many friends during that time. He was a coach and equipment manager for Cinderella softball. He proudly served as president, and later as treasurer for the Dresser Rand Service Association. Jon was a devoted and loving family man. He leaves behind his wife of almost 55 years, Clara (Longwell) Vine; daughters, Renee Vine and Kristin Vine; granddaughter, Rhian (Anthony) Aviles; brother, Thomas (Terry) Vine; sisters-in-law, Delores Vine and Sharon English; and nieces and nephews who were all special to him. He was excited to soon become a great grandpa. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Thorton B. and Mildred Green Vine; brother, Raymond (Bill) Vine; sisters, Bonnie Vine Keach and Beverly Vine Hawkins; father and mother-in-law, Willard and Marie Longwell; sister-in-law, Margaret Ferbert; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Phillip Webb; and brother-in-law, Harold English, Sr. You will always be remembered and dearly loved.
