John A. Adamowicz Obituary (1925 - 2015)

John A. Adamowicz, age 89, of Corning, died Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Absolut Care At Three Rivers in Painted Post, NY. John was born on May 29, 1925 in Savona, NY to Maciej and Rose Mary (Jop) Adamowicz and was a graduate of Savona Central School and Corning Community College. He married Brunhilde Strock at St. Joseph's Church in Campbell in 1967. He was employed by Corning Incorporated as a mechanical engineer for many years. John was a member of All Saints Parish, Knights of Columbus where he had been a 3rd Degree Knight and was the Grand Knight two times, a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Society of Certified Engineers. He is survived by his wife Brunhilde; sister, Genevieve Gronski of Corning; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. John was predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Joseph, Stanley, Henry, Walter, Peter, Mary, Anna, and Rose. Friends may call on Saturday, January 31st from 10 until 11 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 222 Dodge Avenue in Corning where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Bath, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Saints Parish, 222 Dodge Avenue, Corning, NY 14830. John's family entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
