Jessie Lightfoot Dee passed away at her residence at Lakeview Terrace Retirement Community Altoona, Florida on May 5, 2012 from cancer. She was born April 13, 1921 at Southside Hospital Youngstown, Mother, Edith Shaw Lightfoot, and Father Christopher Lightfoot.\n\n\n\n\nShe is survived by her four children: James Dee of the Villages Fl, William Jr. Dee of Upper Darby, Pa, Dorothy Brooks/Smith of Valley Villages, Ca, and Christopher Dee of Williamsville, NY. She has seven grandchildren, James Dee II, Christopher Dee, Geoffrey Dee, Jennifer Dee Yuzuk William Dee III, Kelly Dee and Erin Dee Andol. Eight great grandchildren Philip Dee, Sarah Dee, Madeline Dee, Connor Dee, Will Dee, Sam Yuzuk, Nathan Yuzuk And Ella Andol . Her husband William T. Dee, her sister Ann Lightfoot Baker and grandson Geoffrey Dee preceded her in death.\n\n\n \n\n\nJessie grew up in Youngstown and Boardman. She graduated from Boardman High school in 1939 and received her Nursing Degree from Edwin J. Myers Hospital, Buffalo, New York. She married William Dee May 26, 1943; he passed away in May 12, 1983. \n\n\n \n\n\nJessie and her family were transferred and lived in many cities throughout the United States Jessie's career as a RN had a wide reach- starting as a Floor Nurse, leading to Head supervisor in several cities and culminating as Administrator for both Planned Parenthood and United Way in Corning, NY.\n\n\n \n\n\nA Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 21st at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street in Corning. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery next to her husband William. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.\n\n\n\n\nHaughey Funeral Home, 216 East First Street in Corning has been entrusted with arrangements.
