James D. Weaver, age 71, of Caton, NY died Monday, October 15, 2018 at home.\n\n\nJim was born on April 12, 1947 in Waverly, NY to James L. and Frances (Murray) Weaver. He was a graduate of Waverly High School and married Sharon Passmore on August 16, 1969. He was employed by Weyerhaeuser in Elmira Heights as a fork truck operator for many years. \n\n\nJim enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and especially spending time on his boat on Lamoka Lake. He was also an avid Giants, Yankees, Notre Dame, and Syracuse fan. \n\n\nHe is survived by his wife Sharon; daughter, Jennifer Allen of Caton; son, Brian (Sandy) Weaver of Caton; sister, Ellen Weaver of Horseheads; grandchildren, Jack, Jillian, Aiden, Logan, and Juliet; cousin, Connie Ann (Dave) Taylor of Syracuse; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his pugs, Butch and Peaches.\n\n\nCalling hours will be Monday, October 22nd from 1-3 and 5-7 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning where funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Caton.\n\n\nMemorials may be made in his name to the Children's Miracle Network.\n\n\nJim's family entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
