James E. Lese, age 69, of Savona, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Ira Davenport Hospital in Bath, NY. \n\n\nJim was born on November 22, 1945 in Corning to Armot and Martha (Benson) Lese and graduated from West High School. Following school, Jim went to work for the telephone company and eventually retired from Verizon as a repair technician. He loved his farm, his friends, and attending his church, the Savona Federated Church. Jim was also a member of Gideons International and was a Buffalo Bills fan. James was known as a kind hearted man and the type of friend that would always lend a hand to those in need. He loved working with his son Dana on construction jobs. \n\n\nHe is survived by two sons, Dana Lese of Painted Post and Craig Lackey of Madison, WI; three brothers, Mike (Joan) Lese of Corning, Mario Lese of Corning, and Steven (Debbie) Lese of Big Flats; one grandson, Alexander Lese of Wilmington, NC; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; close friend and companion, Carol Putman of Bath. \n\n\nCalling hours will be held on Saturday, March 28th from 1 until 4 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street, Corning, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 29th at Savona Federated Church, 20 Church Street in Savona with Rev.
