Ila Nancy McCormick Obituary (1961 - 2022)

Ila Nancy McCormick, age 61, of Corning, NY died on August 14, 2022 at Guthrie Corning Hospital in Corning after a lengthy illness. Ila was born in Corning on March 31, 1961, daughter to Robert and Vera Mastenbrook. She was a graduate of Stratford High School. Ila married James (Jamie) McCormick, the love of her life, on January 1, 2016. Ila loved to fish, especially as a child staying at camp in the Adirondacks. With Stoney Brook in the backyard, and Windfall Creek accessible with the dirt bike, she was fishing nearly every day of vacation. As a teen, she enjoyed motorcycle riding and hanging out with friends. Ila liked to play board games, and Scrabble was her favorite game. As a homemaker, Ila enjoyed cooking and baking. She is survived by her daughter, Tessie (Bill) Maxwell of Westfield, MA; sisters, Eva (Carl) Dobson of Campbell, NY and Marilyn (Dennis) Prutsman of Troupsburg, NY; brothers, Robert (Wendy) Mastenbrook of Painted Post, NY and William (Belinda) Mastenbrook of Stratford, NY; grandchildren, Jamin, Abby, and Mallory; and many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her brother, Steven; her parents; her son, Mark; and her husband, Jamie. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Central Valley Cemetery in Hornby, NY. Ila's care was entrusted to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
