Ida S. Brown, age 93, of Corning, NY, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at home with family.\n\n\nIda was born in Waterloo, Iowa on March 20, 1920. She was the daughter of Louis and Marta (Balen) Sulentic.\n\n\nShe worked as "Rosie the Riviter" at the Boeing Plant in California, then married Fred Brown on June 15, 1943. Fred was in the Navy CB's with Bob Rockwell which led them to Corning, NY. She worked as a Key Punch Operator at Corning Glass and then stayed home to raise her children. She later went to work at the Rockwell Museum in the Gift Shop which was her calling.\n\n\nPreceding her in death were her parents Louis and Marta Sulentic; husband Fred Brown in 1995; son Michael Jon; brother Tony; and sisters Annie, Pauline, Katie, and Mary.\n\n\nIda is survived by her brother "Joey Boy" of Waterloo, Iowa; sister Helen of Lake Wales, FL; daughters Tonya (Glenn) Goodreau of Falls Church, VA, Susan (David) Andrews of Corning; grandchildren, Nathan (Sara) Andrews of Elmira, Griffin Goodreau, Stephen Goodreau of Falls Church, VA; and great grandson Eukiah Justice Andrews.\n\n\nThe family will receive guests on Saturday, November 16th between 2 - 3:30 pm at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc. 216 First Street, Corning where a Memorial service will follow at 3:30.\n\n\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ida's memory to Care First, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830 or St. Mary's Church (Video Mass), 222 Dodge Avenue, Corning.\n\n\nIda's family has entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
