Helen Ida Butler, 85 of Maricopa, AZ, formerly of Painted Post, NY, died June 1, 2016, at Hospice of the Valley in Mesa, AZ.\n\nHelen was a strong, beautiful, independent woman. She was married to the love of her life, Robert Marion Butler, on July 3, 1948. She and her husband were successful business owners. Robert was President and Helen was the Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer of Micro Glass Inc. in Syracuse, NY, founded in 1962. They went on to establish MGI Electronics in 1980. Previous to that Helen worked in the factory. They were members of the Yacht Club in the Finger Lakes of NY.\n\nShe loved the holidays with her family and was in charge of the family reunions. Helen was known for her beautiful gowns, homemade jams, and homemade ice cream. She also enjoyed helping the underprivileged children.\n\nHelen is survived by her beloved children, Diane Butler of Mesa, AZ; Robyn Goins and son-in-law, Troy of Mesa, AZ; Jill Butler of Chandler, AZ; Robert Butler II and daughter-in-law, JoAnn of Maricopa, AZ; and Bruce Butler of Painted Post, NY. There are 15 grandchildren: Joe Blanco, Michelle Blanco, Robert Butler, Michael Butler, James Butler, Zach Butler, Amanda Santimaw, Austin Armstrong, Weston Schmitt, Bruce Butler, Brendan Butler, Mia Butler, Brandi Rhodes, Charles Worden, and Justin Smith; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Other close family members are sister, Judy Davis and husband, Manley; brother, William Mattison and wife, Shirley; brother, Gary Mattison and wife, Valerie of Florida.\n\nHelen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Marion Butler; mother, Nellie Elizabeth Smith; father, Carl Mattison; brother, Darris Mattison; and sister, Janice Benicasa.\n\nFriends are invited to call at Presho Methodist Church, 1727 Indian Hills Road, Painted Post, NY on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2pm. Burial will follow in the Presho Cemetery and dinner at the church.\n\nThe family of Helen Butler asks that memorial gifts be given to Presho Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
