Hazel A. Barrett Obituary (1926 - 2014)

Hazel A. Barrett, age 87, of Woodview Avenue in Corning, NY died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Absolut Care at Three Rivers in Painted Post, NY. Hazel was born on May 25, 1926 in Lawrenceville, PA to Archibald and Joyce (Glover) Preston. She married Thomas F. Barrett, II in 1947 and was preceded in death by him in 1979. She enjoyed flower gardening, coffee, and long talks with family and friends, especially with her special friend Mildred Miles. Hazel is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Buchanan of Belmont, NY; seven sons, Bryon Barrett of Corning, Peter Barrett of Centennial, CO, Michael Barrett of Corning, William Barrett of Cayuta, NY, Thomas Barrett III of Ketchikan, AK, Dennis Barrett of St. Thomas, and Philip Barrett of St. Thomas; one brother, Merle Preston; two sisters, Marie O'Dell and Alice Parsons; 19 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Ford Preston, sister Onalie Preston; grandsons, Michael Barrett, and Brandon Barrett. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 26th at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street in Corning. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery following the Mass.
