Harry Watson Phillips, "Pa", age 89, slipped away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on January 11, 2018.\n\n\nHarry was born February 10, 1928 in Corning to James and Emma (Dark) Phillips. Harry worked at Corning Glass as a Master Gaffer in Steuben, working with the Master Designers. He traveled with Corning Inc. to many countries to see other glass gaffers and to talk "shop".\n\n\nHe also was a faithful member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Harry taught Sunday school for many years, and was a youth leader for many years with his wife. He also helped on the building committees and buildings.\n\n\nHis favorite hobby was working on vehicles of any shape or size. He helped many people who would otherwise not be able to have car repairs. \n\n\nHe is predeceased by his wife, Shirley, two sisters, one brother, one brother-in-law and one nephew.\n\n\nHarry is survived by a brother, Harold Phillips and a sister, Elsie Robinson; two daughters, Martha Force of Corning and Jeanette (Ernie) Stanton of Corning; grandchildren: Jamie (Kevin) Walter, Scott (Katrina) Stanton, and Dr. Crista (Barry) Penland; great grandchildren, Darinda Walter and Emma Stanton.\n\n\nVisiting hours will be held at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 2-4 PM followed by a memorial service with Pastor Vaughn VanSkiver officiating.\n\n\nWe want to specifically thank Kindred At Home and Care First for their excellent and compassionate care of "Pa".\n\n\nMemorial donations may be made to The Potter's Hands Foundation, P.O.
