Harold E. Phillips, age 88, of Lower Pace Road in Corning, NY died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Absolut Care at Three Rivers in Painted Post, NY. \n\n\nHarold was born on October 30, 1929 in Corning to James and Emma (Dark) Phillips. He married Linda Quill on December 10, 1960 in Presho and was preceded in death by her on September 20, 2016. Harold served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. \n\n\nHe was a gaffer for Steuben for many years. Harold enjoyed hunting, working on cars, working in the garden, mowing lawns, moving snow. \n\n\nHe is survived by two daughters, Donna (Michael) Head of Virginia Beach, VA and Shelley Phillips of Rochester; sister, Elsie Robinson of Washington; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alyce Phillips of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews.\n\n\nHarold was predeceased by his brothers Harry and James Phillips; and his sisters, Martha Semple and Beulah Mazurek.\n\n\nCalling hours will be held on Friday, January 26th from 2 until 3:30 PM at Victory Highway Wesleyan Church, 150 Victory Highway in Painted Post where a devotional celebration of his life will follow at 3:30 PM with Pastor Vaughn VanSkiver officiating.\n\n\nMemorial donations may be made to the ARC of Steuben, Geneva Street Project, 1 ARC Way, Bath, NY 14810.\n\n\nHarold's family entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
