Gary R. Warner, Sr., age 72, of Addison, NY died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Guthrie Corning Hospital.\n\n\nGary was born on March 8, 1942 in Endicott, NY to Leo and Helen (Middendorf) Warner. \n\nHe served his country proudly in the Navy from 1962 until 1966. He retired from Conrail and worked for the Addison Central School District as a bus driver. He was most proud of his association with the American Legion. He was Past Commander of the Addison American Legion and is currently the Chaplain of the Corning American Legion Post 746. Gary was an avid woodworker. \n\n\nHe is survived by one daughter, Kelly Leary of Addison; two sons, Ross Warner of Elmira and Gary Warner, Jr. of Horseheads; six grandchildren; sister, Jeanne Michaud of Windsor, NY, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. \n\n\n\n\nCalling hours will be held on Friday, October 24th from 10 - 12 Noon at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street, Corning. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 24th at Addison Rural Cemetery with full military honors. \n\n\nHaughey Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with Gary's care.
