Fred Allen Lucas, age 73 of State Route 414, Beaver Dams, NY died on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Seneca View, in Montour Falls, NY.\n\n\n\n\nFred was born on January 25, 1939 in Renovo, PA to Leslie and Mary (Ellis) Lucas. He was a graduate of Renovo High School. He worked as an auto mechanic for four years until he entered the U.S. Army in 1962. He married Carol Cross in July 18, 1961 in Renovo, PA. He worked as a mechanic at A&P Foods, Elmhurst Dairy in Prattsburg, and retired from Hardinge in Elmira. Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, and remodeling his home. \n\n\n\n\nHis survivors include his wife Carol Lucas; one daughter, Karen (Stephen) Ceranowicz of Ft. Worth, TX; four brothers, Russell Lucas of Beaver Dams, NY, Thomas (Carolyn) Lucas of Cogan Station, PA, Leslie (Cheryl) Lucas of Hyner, PA, and Larry (Donna) Lucas of Waterford, PA; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Ceranowicz of Ft. Worth, TX and Jonathan Ceranowicz of Woodbury, MN; many nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his son Kenneth Lucas.\n\n\n\n\nA Memorial Service will be held on June 9, 2012 at the Grace Lee Memorial Wesleyan Church, 2075 Chambers Road, Beaver Dams, NY at 3:00 PM with Pastor Matthew Pickering officiating. Burial will be in Beaver Dams Cemetery. A luncheon will follow services at the Church.\n\n\n\n\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Schuyler Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit or to the Grace Lee Memorial Wesleyan Church Building Fund.\n\n\n\n\nHaughey Funeral Home, 216 East First Street in Corning has been entrusted with arrangements.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n.
