Painted Post, New York
Forrest Page Leonard, age 17 months, of Painted Post, NY, was an adventurous, beautiful spirit who left this world too soon on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. He was born in Corning, NY on May 5, 2023.
Forrest was a beacon of pure joy, leaving a trail of laughter and love everywhere he went. He enjoyed playing chase, climbing, and splashing around in Aunt Stephie’s pool.
His funny side was often on display as he danced and played with his brother, Landon, and his sister, Ellieana. Forrest found comfort in snuggling with Mama and Mikey, and was captivated by his favorite show, Blues Clues, and the stories of Ms. Rachel. His love for balloons was a testament to his buoyant spirit and fascination with the simple joys of life.
Forrest is survived by his loving family: his mother, Sylvia (Michael Keough) Leonard; father, Frederick Barber III; siblings, Landon Walton and Ellieana Leonard; grandparents, Joseph (Jennifer) Leonard, and Melissa Montopoli; uncles, Lane (Alexa) Leonard and Xander Ressler; aunt, Evelyn (Dustin) Mudd; and his great-grandparents Diana (Milton) Carl, Michelle (Jerome) Stacy, and Robert (Penny) Leonard; first cousins: Emily, Aubrie, and Brinley Mudd; his big brother, Landon’s family, that lovingly became extended family: Landon’s dad, Thomas Walton; grandparents, “Mimi and grandpa” Claudia and Bruce Reed and Duane Walton; uncle, Seth Reed; aunts, Melissa Walton and Stephanie Walton; cousin, Olivia Walton.
“As Forrest's mother, I can say without a doubt that he was all about love. The most important thing to Forrest was being with his family. He showered us with affection, his tiny heart filled with so much love for everyone. He was a blessing and a gift, a reminder of the purity and innocence that exists in this world. In the words of Elizabeth Stone, "Making the decision to have a child - it is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." That quote perfectly encapsulates the bond I shared with my precious Forrest, a bond that will remain unbroken, even in his absence.”
