Eugenia E. Thiel Obituary (1917 - 2013)

Eugenia E. "Jean" Thiel, age 95, of Painted Post, formerly of Hamburg, NY died Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Absolut Care at Three Rivers in Painted Post, NY. Born on November 3, 1917 in Depew, NY to Stanislaw and Julia M. (Kania) Sobocinski "Soby", Eugenia spent much of her early life in Buffalo and North Collins, NY, helping out after school in her father's pharmacy. She graduated from North Collins High School and Bryant and Stratton Business Institute. After her marriage to F. Louis Thiel of Langford, NY in 1941, she lived in Hamburg, NY where she and "Lou" raised two sons. She was predeceased by her husband in 1974. She is survived by two sons, Frank (Patricia) Thiel of Painted Post and Robert (Alesia) Thiel of Memphis, TN; two grandchildren, Frank (Susan) Thiel, V and Karl (Heather) Thiel; great grandchildren, Zoe Thiel, Genevieve Thiel, and Laurel Thiel all of Austin, TX. Jean was preceded in death by three brothers. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Langford, NY at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in Eugenia's name to a charity of your choice. Eugenia's family have entrusted her care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc. in Corning.
