Edward J. "Junior" Scott Obituary (1935 - 2017)

Edward J. "Junior" Scott, age 81, of Meads Creek Road in Painted Post, NY died Monday, June 5, 2017 at Absolut Care at Three Rivers in Painted Post. Junior was born on December 24, 1935 in Lindley, NY to Raymond and Edith (Stephens) Scott. Junior had been the caretaker of Coopers Plains Cemetery for over 50 years. Junior helped his dad out on the family farm, mowed lawns for the neighbors, was a master backhoe operator, enjoyed cooking, playing cards and Yahtzee, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his sister, Betty (Jerry) Baird of Painted Post; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; a special great niece, Angie Winslow; special friends, Nancy and Bud Schosger. Junior was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Tong; and brother, Richard Scott. A graveside service will be held on Thursday June 8th at 2:00 PM at Coopers Plains Cemetery with his nephew Rev. Gary Scott officiating. Junior's family entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
