Edward A. Carlier, age 45, of Elmira died Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in Elmira, NY.\n\n\nEd was born on July 24, 1968 in Elmira to Roger and Dorothy (Woods) Carlier. He was a graduate of Biloxi Mississippi High School. He worked for Toshiba as an equipment mechanic for 17 years and then for Corning Incorporated as a lab technician. He married Debra Cutler in August 16, 2002. Ed enjoyed fishing, had a great sense of humor, and was very caring. He was a Saints fan. \n\n\nHe is survived by his mother, Dorothy Carlier of Horseheads; two sisters, Jodi (Tom) Atkinson of Glendale, AZ and Karen (Brett) Patton of Horseheads; a brother, John Carlier of Manchester, NH; two aunts, Marge Irwin of Chatham, Ontario and Ruth (Ron) Baker of London, Ontario; nieces and nephews, Scott Kennedy, Jennifer (Jason) Embree, Matthew (Nicole) Atkinson, Diane (Nick) Ranaldi; great niece, Olivia Scouten; great nephew, Alec Embree; several brothers and sisters-in-law on the Cutler side of the family.\n\n\nCalling hours will be held on Friday, November 8th from 4 until 8 pm at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:00 AM on Saturday, November 9th at St. Mary's Church on State Street in Corning with Father Lew Brown and Pastor David Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Corning. \n\n\nEd's family has entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc. in Corning.
