Douglas C. Bronson, age 72, of Corning, NY died Monday, November 1, 2021 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. Doug was born on April 14, 1949 in Corning to Clayton and Miriam (Rouse) Bronson. He was a 1967 graduate of Corning Painted Post West High School and married Pamela Cook on October 19, 1968 at Grace United Methodist Church. Doug worked for Goodyear in Corning for over 32 years and retired in 2004 as an outside sales rep. Doug was passionate about golfing and hunting. He won numerous club championships in the area and was inducted into the Corning - Painted Post Sports Hall of Fame for golf. He loved hunting and fishing and was a record holder in the Big Buck Club. He was a die-hard Yankees fan and seldom missed a game on TV, radio, or phone. He enjoyed making memories at Crescent Lake especially with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Pam; daughter, Melissa (Frank) Williamee, Jr of Beaver Dams; son, Douglas Bronson of Corning; sister, Donna Gee of Big Flats; brother, Clayton (Laurie) Bronson of Longwood, FL; grandchildren: Rachel (John Durr) Schoonover, Jessica Bloom, Zeth Morrison, Zander Morrison, McKenzie (Nate) Barber, Nicholas Bronson, Jenna (Jose) Lockwood, Riley Bronson, and Owen Bronson; great grandchildren, Zoey, Declan, Luna, and Beckett; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; two aunts: Maxine and Elizabeth. Doug was predeceased by his daughter, Cynthia Lynn Bronson; and his sister Phyllis Bronson. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 9th from 3 - 5 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 E. First Street in Corning where funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM with his cousin, Pastor Jeff Snyder, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 32 Denison Parkway East, Corning, NY 14830. Doug's family entrusted his care to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.
